Designing and Evaluating an Integrated AI-Based Educational System for Enhancing Critical Analysis Skills in Pre-Service Teachers

چکیده مقاله (Abstract)

In light of the emerging challenges and opportunities of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in teacher education, this study designs, implements, and evaluates an integrated educational system aimed at enhancing the critical analysis skills of pre-service teachers. Utilizing a qualitative case study design, the research involved history and social sciences student-teachers at Farhangian University. Data from their experiences in an AI-assisted textbook content analysis project were collected via evaluation forms and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings revealed dual challenges (technical and human) alongside multifaceted learning outcomes (technical, pedagogical, and soft skills). Crucially, the results uncovered a dialectical relationship between challenge and learning, conceptualizing the role of AI as a pedagogical assistant that fosters transformative learning by engineering cognitive conflict. The study concludes that the efficacy of AI in teacher education relies heavily on its integration into a rigorous educational system where challenges become learning opportunities and technology acts as a catalyst for professional identity development.

Empirical Dataset: AI-Resistant Performance Tasks Generated by Novice Teacher Based on the Integrated AI Triade (IAT) Model

Abstract

This dataset comprises comprehensive task design artifacts (Volume 1) spanning over 600 pages of empirical, AI-resistant performance tasks. These artifacts were systematically designed by novice teachers participating in dedicated IAT model workshops. The dataset showcases practical frameworks to leverage artificial intelligence for creating highly contextualized, creative tasks, divided into three distinct pedagogical rubrics: Scenario-Based Tasks, Comparative Analysis Tasks, and Creation & Critique Tasks.

The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Green Education: Optimizing Teacher Workflow and Enhancing Pedagogical Design under the Sustainable Development Pedagogy (SDP) Constraint

Abstract

This study investigates the efficacy of applying pedagogical constraints centered on sustainable development to improve the quality of instructional design among pre-service teachers within the framework of the Integrated AI Triad (IAT) model. Utilizing a quasi-experimental design, the lesson plans of 28 pre-service teacher teams were compared across Baseline and Sustainable Development Pedagogy (SDP) phases. Paired t-test results demonstrated a significant improvement in overall design quality (t(27) = 13.78, p < 0.001) with a very large effect size (d = 2.80). The highest increase was observed in the SDP workflow compliance index (183%). These findings indicate that enforcing zero-paper resource management constraints assisted by AI serves as a strategic catalyst, transforming the teacher’s role from a mere pedagogical designer into an efficient, reflective strategic educational manager.
